Your PSU is 1000W+ but predates ATX 3.0, so it has no 12V-2x6 cable. This is the one people get wrong. The wattage is fine. The problem is you'd be running the 5090 off the four-to-one 8-pin adapter, and that adapter is where the failure stories come from. Replace it.

What the Card Actually Pulls

The RTX 5090's rated board power is 575W. Under load it will happily sit at 600W.

What About 1200W?

Worth considering in exactly two cases.

One, you're pairing the 5090 with a high-wattage CPU and running both hard, in which case a 1200W ATX 3.1 unit gives you the roughly 20% headroom over peak load that keeps everything boring. Two, you plan to keep the PSU across two more GPU generations and the trend line on power draw is not going down.
